Sintergy

Sintergy refers to an arcane method of smithing possessed by the descendents of Alzairu'Arima including iron, steel, mithral, adamantine, and Voldstal dragons. Information on this method is primarily through observtion of it being performed and is thus incomplete. It is believed that this magic can likely be learned by a competent mage and smih if one could understand the process; however, the dragons who utilize it describe it as being second nature to them and not something that they are able to teach. The gap between the dragon's instincts and an understood process has yet to be bridged.   Sintergy is a magically-driven process of extreme powder metallurgy. Component metals are digested by the dragon into small dust-like motes comprising of a handful of metal crystals. These metal are housed in various organs throughout their bodies to provide access when required. Upon demand, the organs 'secrete' the amount of each metal dust required for the application and mix it in a pre-expulsion organ. The blend is exhaled, followed by a gout of flame to superheat it. The molten material is then formed utiizing the dragon's telekinetic powers of metal substances. More practiced Sintergists are able to expel already molten material rather than a dust cloud. It is unknown whether this is age related.   The end result of Sintergy is an ultra-uniform, accurate to application metal with an extremely fine grain structure.
