Gra'zu'kron

The fortress of Gra'zu'kron guards the way to the ancient dwarf ruin of Kroz'al'var and the second path towards the dwarven hold of Grakken'thrun with the first being from the surface entrance a couple days travel from the port of Kiln. As a result, this fortress is critical, and it has typically only ever fallen due to misjudgement or a fluke, always being swiftly retaken by the dwarves.   Often described as a fortress of fortresses and with gatehouses resembling castles in their own right, Gra'zu'kron might be one of very few fortifications surpassing Steps Toward Greatness and Dawnsward Keep in impregnability. Originally built by order of the Kasta'var Clan during their reign from Kroz'al'var, It is a marvel of dwarven masonry.   The fortress itself operates as a town. When fully manned and staffed with army camp followers, Gra'zu'kron is able to provide all of the trades to support it's sizable "garrison". This is a laughable way of describing things as the dormitories and supporting structures are designed to support no fewer than 3000 men. This makes the stronghold a bloodbath to assault. . . especially since the structure is designed for corpses to improve its efficiency.
