Eternal Spire History

Creation Mythos

The Spire is as eternal as the Realm it was created on. Surrounded by a sea of unending clouds that occassionally churn into storms, the Eternal Spire has always been. The oldest of the Draac couldn't recall when it was made or by who - or what. The Spire had no Gods, at least not for so long as the Draac had been in the realm.   And they'd lived in the Eternal Spire for countless draac lifespans.   With no real, known creation story, many have circulated the nests, beds, and realms the Draac have traversed.
"I was told from the time I was a hatchling that one of our greatest ancestors made the Tower. A Draac greater than them, before them, made the realm. We were gods at one point..."
- Belyra, current Tiniad
"It's never something I ever thought about - or questioned when I arrived. It's been here, and just has. Who made it doesn't matter. I never assumed it was draac, though. We're not usually known for building anything."
- Malanyon, current consort to the Tiniad
"Of course we made it. Nothing else has been around as long as Draac. The answer is below, somewhere... It's a tower, right? There has to be a bottom..."

Dynasties

Time

Time is a fluid, almost abstract thing at the Eternal Spire. There are no night and day cycles, no way to measure the passage of a year, no planetary rotation. Just a vast, eternal sky and the tower that rises up into it. An unknown lightsource keeps the plane in a perpetual state of day, though the weather might change. Clouds thicken, rain falls, or the wind moves the clouds and the sky opens up to a vast, blue space that turns hazy in the distance. Draac can grow old and die without ever having seen a moon, experience a night, or feel the cold of snowfall.

Records

Draac mark the passage of time through Dynasties. This is the rise and fall of Draac bloodlines. As it is impossible to say just how long one Draac may live, the Spire goes through cycles of Dynasties based on the present Tiniad. This is a position that can be achieved through birthright, taken through one on one combat, or in some cases overthrown by a collection of Draac. There is no official means or method of becoming a Tiniad, only that a new bloodline marks a new Dynasty at the Spire.
by Daniel Apodaca
Home meant different things to different creatures. In all the wide worlds, and the languages known, it was supposed to represent a safe haven. Perhaps where one had grown up. The hovel surrounding family or even the calling of tradition. A place where blood roots had been laid and history welled up around those that lived there.   Even the various nomads across the ages and eons had a sense of home that they carried within. A matter of pride in their living condition.   But ‘home’ never suited to describe the towering mess of Terruld Tiniad. A place with so many names, of a height unimaginable, and an age that stretched back through time eternal. Eld’er’theral, some of her elders called it. The most recent of names that fell with the death of the Eld’er Dynasty. Which, according to her mentor and Brood Mother, was a more reasonable way to mark the passage of ‘time’.
