Hobbits

All native Halflings are Eshoran by birth, though some emigrate (these are always Lighthearts), and few are born outside. They are split into 2 subspecies: Steadfast (stout), and Lightheart (lightfoot). The Steadfast are the most common variety, and are the classical image of the species. The Lighthearts are a newer group, developing from the genetic quirks of wanderers through the ages, when the genes occasionally resurface in a Steadfast family (telling of some long-ago illicit coupling), it is a great shame upon them. Lighthearts are named mockingly, for the idea that they flitter around, without proper bonds, but the group has (internally) reclaimed the term as a description of their favoured wanderlust.

Basic Information

Anatomy

They appear as humans with genetic dwarfism, though without any complications of movement. Steadfast are generally shorter and more stout, while Lighthearts are lanky.

Biological Traits

Lighthearts are more susceptible to disease and the like, though they are more dextrous, some are even seemingly able to slip away as you blink. Steadfasts by contrast, are physically tougher, with resistance even to poisons.
