Ice Basilisk

A variety of Basilisk that lives in cold climates, typically under mountains. They usually have a somewhat woolly exterior with spikes poking up through their coats on their back. They are just as dangerous as their southern cousins, although instead of petrification, they have the ability to freeze their prey with just a look. Some reports have indicated they may unfreeze their victims at a later date for consumption, but these conflict with the notion that a basilisk prefers its food live.
