Book of the Eye

Chapter of Iolas

In the time of the birth of the gods, Ghaunadaur was one of those first created using what was left of the dust of powerful life. It was apparent from even then in the Age of Creation, he was not the most powerful, and had no place amongst the Gods or their ancient worshippers. For thousands of years he wandered the planes never speaking but always watching. He found among all creatures there were those who did not belong, the outcasts and he watched them.   As Ghaunadaur wandered near a place he frequented to watch the asterike hunt, he found a nearby stone with an eye carved deeply upon it. It carried an energy of the mind as well, and below the stone he found a resting atropal. In mind to mind Ghaunadaur inquired about the carved eye. The atropal covered its own face in deep respect. You are the Everwatcher, the Elder Eye, the Eternal Sight for us who were made incomplete and without vision of our own. We carve your attribute in places we know you watch from to represent in holy sanctity your dominion and represent the safety of your watch. Ghaunadaur blessed the atropal with a boon of sight and a name, Enshorus, meaning “First of the Watch”.   It was at the site of the first attribute Ghaunadaur built is holy court, and filled the court full of the outcasts the faithless had rejected. Under the watch of the great glass eye, the court observed the world, and fell silent and forgotten.   In the Age of the Gods, an adrow of a calling wandered into a cave and found His attribute on a wall, carved by the ancients who hadn’t dared speak his name. The adrow felt the mind power in the attribute and rejoiced in his found calling. For eleven days and eleven nights he prayed and called for the power of the attribute to watch a lowly mortal and on the morning of the 12th day he was filled with mind power beyond knowing. His eyes lit up and he spoke the words of Ghaunadaur himself to those who would listen. He became a wanderer, and a carver and so by the disciple Iolas, Ghaunadaur saved the faithful of Estia.

Chapter of Delmuth

All creatures have their place, and all are fit to wield power. Those who hunt weed out the weak and strengthen the stock of all. Those who rebel or who walk apart find new ways and try new things and do most to advance their races. Creatures of power best house the energy of life, which Ghaunadaur reveres and represents.   Raise your young in the strength and under the watch of the Eye, for they belong to the Eye and to Ghaunadaur and to your race. Cut off the weak and unwilling from among your offspring and the weak and unwilling from your race. Strengthen those who grow in the watch of the Eye and who worship the Everwatcher.   Strength is not just of leg and arm but also of spirit, of sacrifice and of mind. Only those who lack strength in arm and leg, and in spirit and in sacrifice and of mind are truly weak and the scum of the world. Strengthen yourselves in the unwilling sacrifice of the weak, in the wiping away of the scum and the destruction of your enemies. Find strength in the Eye and purpose your strength in service of the Eye.   Carvers make His attribute known. Mark the world with his sign, so that all know they are watched and we are protected by His gaze. Carve the attribute into holy sites, build courts for the Eye and let your power be known. Deny life and comfort to any who would remove His attribute marked by a Carver or suffer as though you had defaced it with your own hands.   Unsighted make your dedication known. You did not blind yourself for no one to see your true faith. You have placed everything in the hands of the Eye, and Ghaunadaur and you will be blessed in His eternal watch.   Make sacrifices to the Eye, persuade others to sacrifice themselves to Ghaunadaur or in service of the Eye, further knowledge and fear of Ghaunadaur, and in the end give yourself to Ghaunadaur in unresisting self-sacrifice. Convert all beings to the worship of Ghaunadaur. Slay all clergy of other faiths, plundering their temples and holdings for wealth to better your own lot and to further the worship of Ghaunadaur.

Chapter of Rhalyf

Tell your faithful, the first day of the eleventh month marks the proving of faith. The faithful will prove themselves through sacrifice and offering, through observation and inclusion of the cast out, through the carving of stone and flesh, through ritual and understanding. On the twelfth morning, any who received the Sight should be seen by the Eye. Let the Eye determine their strength, their purpose and guide their power. The Sight is a gift to the Eye, a blessing of Ghaunadaur to the faithful so they may thrive, grow and vanquish their enemies. The twelfth day of the proving of faith is a holy day, no disrespect should be tolerated.   Tell your faithful, the eleventh year is the year of the darkness. Be aware, take caution and prepare for this dark time. This will test your faithful, strip the weak from your ranks and will require the Eye to be always watching. Take care not to be defeated, for the twelfth year is to be rejoiced. The year of the Watch, and is a year of power and blessing. Reward your faithful and conquer your enemies for the glory of Ghaunadaur.   Tell your faithful, do not deface His attribute. The sacred carving should mark their homes, their lives and minds. Do not disrespect this sacred mark, that brought the Eye and Ghaunadaur to us.

Chapter of Nindrel

The watch is never over. Keep your eyes open, the Little Eyes are coming. Eternal watchers, the Little Eyes will deliver the Eye to dominance, bring the faithful in number and reveal Ghaunadaur to his followers and unite the Elder Eye. Their numbers are strong, their blessings will be many. From the abominations come power, and fate will direct their path to the Eye. They will lead in destruction, and will call the Elder Eye to Estia.   In the days of the Little Eyes, the powers will clash. Scale against flesh and fire against metal. The weak will perish, and the strength of the Eye will be tested. The land will fail, the air will kill, the water will sink and only the faithful will survive. Ghaunadaur will vanquish the faithless gods, and will destroy the faithless. The end will bring a new beginning, a new Eye and a new watch, for eterna
