Armar Nur (ah-MAR NUr)

King Armar "Solan-Touched" Nur

Archpriest and Chosen of Solan, Armar was one of the nine heroes during the Ascendance War. He would later become King of Morn and the founding Archpriest of the Chancel of Solan.

Early Life

Not much is known about Armar before the events of the Ascendance War. Like many other Human slaves, Armar's parents are completely unknown. As a slave, Armar would work the fields of An'misarei. In the scorching heat, he would often pray to Solan for mercy. During the cold nights, he would tend to the sick slaves that often sought him out. To many of the slaves, he was a renowned healer. A popular figure amongst the slaves, which often led to a lot of attention from the Ae'dari slavers. Though, even the Ae'dari would seek him out in times of dire need. All of which, lead to him often gaining favor with the Ae'dari and allowing him to plead mercy for slaves caught by any slaver's ire.   In due time, Armar would learn of Vizar's plan to revolt against their slavers. However, Armar would initially refuse to join the cause, even though he was personally sought out by Vizar. He likely feared the retribution that would be inflicted upon the slaves, if the revolt were to fail. Whether by divine intervention or a sudden change of heart, Armar would end up joining the fight for Humanity's freedom.

Slave uprising of An'misarei

Armar initially refused to join the slave uprising, and though it is largely unknown how the Chosen of Solan would plan the revolt, he would eventually join the cause. During the night of the revolt, Armar, along with Morraine, would set the western side of An'misarei ablaze. With the fire raging behind them, as they broke out of the city, Armar likely hoped it would save slaves from getting caught by the guards. Such an action likely resulted in thousands of slaves escaping the guards.   At Highguard, Armar would seek divine guidance from Solan, and desperately he would supposedly receive an audience with his god. By Solan's declaration, the nine were named Chosen of Solan. Their quest for freedom would now be done so in Solan's name. Throughout the war, Armar would be a guiding light to the sick and injured. Even as they would prepare to face their end at Twinpeak Pass, Armar refused to forsake his followers, now in their time of need.

King of Morn

In the ruins of the city of An'misarei, Armar would organize the Council of Seven to determine the future of the mainland. The Chosen of Solan would now reign as kings of Esteria, to protect Humanity and guide them to a better future. While the other Chosen of Solan ventured to all corners of Esteria to settle their people, Armar chose to settle down in the old Ae'dari country. The land was once a large plain of life, with much flora and fauna, the land was now a grand desert turned barren by the absence of Veradi'il. Though his intentions were largely unknown, scholars believe Armar settled in the ruins of An'misarei to prevent the Ae'dari to resettle in their old lands and for the value which the land held.   Together with Vizar and Orrey, the Alliance of the Western Coastguard was created. Together they would extinguish all Ae'dari attempts to reestablish themselves on the mainland. Their alliance led to prosperity across all kingdoms, and with enough time Armar would begin to further his goals to honor his god, Solan.

Archpriest of the Chancel of Solan

Eleven years after the end of the Ascendance War, Armar would found the Chancel of Solan. A religious organization that would immediately spread throughout all of mainland Esteria with the sponsorship of Armar's former comrades. The worship of Solan now became a proper organized religion. With the Chancel, Solan's tenets would be made clear through the words of Armar. After years of establishing the Chancel's headquarters in Misari, Armar would abdicate his throne to his son and heir, Samir, and venture out into the world to personally do Solan's bidding.
