Three hundred years after the fall of the great Kumothian Empire The world was shattered by the awakening of the Titan Gods, the original gods of Esselon. In the great battle with the Usurper Gods, known as The Cataclysm, continents broke apart and countries were sundered. Civilization itself was set back in nearly every corner of the world. When the smoke cleared and the earth settled to stability once more the Usurper Gods were gone and the Titan Gods split apart into their original forms. The world began starting to rebuild, nearly from scratch.   Now, over a hundred years after The Cataclysm, mortals are rebuilding or creating new civilizations. Wilderness has taken over most of the old world and it is a new time of discovery and exploration. Small kingdoms, countries, tribes and clans are struggling to maintain land and order.   All races are discovering their new gods. Religious orders have formed and some have even been granted boons and access to the magic of their gods. Churches and temples to the gods are being built in earnest now. The people of Esselon have much to pray for, times are hard and the future is uncertain.
