Mythology & Lore

One of the tribes of the Elders from the time before magic was discovered and then lost again. They sailed from unknown lands into Eyvindara, what the dwarves call Tog Darahl, and discovered the lush forests of that continent. They landed on what they would later call Ahntaesi and made that their home. They found the forest inviting and lived in perfect comunnion with the surrounding nature. They were blessed by the forest as it opened itself up to them and shared its secrets. But they sought not to exploit these secrets for their own gain, but to use them to protect and preserve the forest.

Vestar and Asta, among the older of the Naerfi, became a married couple and the de-facto leaders of the settlement. Moeid dedicated themselves to the study of the intricate balance of the ecosystem of the forest and all its flora and fauna. Moeid spoke the language of the flowers and learned to make them grow and protect them from the harsher elements. Moeid also learned the tongue of the beasts and immersed himself in the intricacies of the hunt, understanding that every life must come to an end at some point. Gaeda dedicated herself to improving the lives of the rest of the tribe in the settlement finding ways to meld their lives with nature and create harmonious comfort under the leadership of Vestar and Asta, the paragons of beauty.

Thyre and Mord grew bored with the monotonous nature of life in Ahntaesi, they wanted to go back to the roots of their bethren to sail out and continue discovering new places. To have the freedom to go where they please and to build where and how they please. They wanted to expand their settlement to make it bigger and stronger, something unlike any Elder tribe had ever seen before. They knew the forest had enough for that, but Vestar and Asta refused to utilize the forest in such way. The Naerfi eventually relented and allowed Thyre and Mord to take an expedition further out into the other unclaimed lands in Eyvindara. After nearly an age one of the Naerfi came back. The expedition had gone poorly, Thyre and Mord had no intention of ever coming back. When they landed on the new shores they burned the ships to ensure there would be no return. Little is known of the actual result of that expedition but Thyre and Mord are held as the utmost examples of the dangers of ambition.
