The Black Abbey

The Black Abbey is located on the banks of the Lumot River at the feet of Blighthill. The ruins have long been abandoned, with the exception of bandit groups who use the abbey as a camp. These, however, abandon their camp quite quickly. The abbey got its name from the soot that covers all the surfaces, which has not been washed away by rain even after years.
The black abbey had another name a long time ago, but in time it was forgotten. The abbey was abandoned after the events surrounding the battles of Blighthill. Before the battles, the abbey was home to about 20 monks who dedicated their lives to the god Ilmater. What exactly happened is still unclear, but the Balor Errtu managed to bring part of the monks under his control. They in turn sacrificed the remaining monks by burning down the chapel during mass and managed with an unholy ritual to provide Errtu and his hordes a way into the Matirial plane.
Errtu was banished back to the Abyss thanks to the heroic action of the Lords of Sol at Blighthill, but not without immense losses that almost destroyed the order.
Since then, citizens avoid the Abbey and take detours to bypass it. Some say the old ruins are haunted.
