Samatra

Samatra is the Capital Town of Adral. The Town lies at the foot of the Thunder Peaks at the spring of the Maibur stream. The City is build into the Mountain and the river runs straight through the middle of it.
The city is divided into seven seventy-foot high levels, each surrounded by strudy walls. The gates connecting the levels do not lay behind one another in a line, but face in different directions. Each level is scattered with many alleys, narrow passageways, and full-fledged houses. On the sixth level are the Houses of Study located, surrounded by pleasant gardens. Finally, within the seventh wall, is the Citadel of Samatra, with the blueish-white Tower of Mystra - two hundred feet high, so that it is seen from far away.

Samatra only became Adrals capital after the destruction of Messempar and the fall of the Adralen Empire. Robbed of it's brightest minds and most powerful Wizards the survivors retreated to Samatra proclaiming it the new seat of power and Capital of Adral. Building the Tower of Mystra in the Image of the original Tower in Messempar that was the seat of their governing body, the Archwizard council.
