Botanist Findings:
Kudzu Vines grow at an alarming rate until they have reached a natural equilibrium with the surrounding fauna. The thick vines are known in some cultures as an invasive species however they rarely interfere with native plant life. However, the Elven culture has mastered living with the land as such a high level that the Kudzu is utilized as a defense mechanism against outsiders.
After breeding Elven pheromones into multiple generations of the Kudzu, the plant can now recognize Elven presence and remains docile while reacting negatively to the pheromones of other humanoid species. For this reason, many Elven holy sites, maintain fields of Kudzu around the area as a means of defense.
Horticultural Findings:
A single Kudzu vine can grow as long as 2,000 feet and can live for up to 300 years. While it is said that "the Kudzu has memory" that is yet to be proven to be true. It is more accurate to simply say the Elven Union has memory and is not above reminding the Kudzu. Having been successfully weaponized against the Dread Obsidians and the Goblin Confederacy's mercenaries, fully adapting the Kudzu to Elven lands has increased security in Elven lands.
Herbology:
If harvested properly the poison inside the barbs of most Kudzu species can be used as a neurotoxin to induce paralysis. *CAUTION* It is not advised to attempt this as the poison must be harvested from a living Vinelasher Kudzu plant which poses a considerable risk to the individual harvesting it.
