The Trenchant / BACT

[History]

One of the oldest vessels still afloat in the Human fleet, today the Trenchant stands more as a monument than a serviceable war vessel. Having been retired as an active warship more than 300 years ago, the Trenchant has found a second life playing host to The Bastille Aquatic Combat Tournament (BACT).   As one of the minor tournaments in the T.E.C.S.entry in any competition is only 25 GP.

Top Deck

The field of combat takes place on the top deck of the Trenchant. A polished redwood deck makes cleaning up blood from the previous engagement quick and easy. The most impactful aspects of the engagements taking place on the Trenchant are that the elements and weather can in fact play a large part in the outcome of the contests. Though gambling is illegal in Twinnam as the combat takes place in the open waters outside of Twinnam, bets can be placed on most fights, however, due to the random nature of the outcomes (thanks to the elements), actual bets are few and far between.

Middle Deck

As only certified weapons are allowed within this tournament, approved weapons are kept along the middle deck of the ship. These weapons include Tridents, Nets, Javelins, Daggers, and Whips each of which has been conditioned and cured to ensure their effictiveness within the nautical arena.

Lower Deck

The bottom deck is used for impromptu medical treatment and the storage of prisoners. Thought it isn't incredibly common, some prisoners choose to fight as a means of affecting their sentence, many of these prisoners are from the Everhold Keeps.
