Speckled Vallen

Botanist Finding:

Seeing double? You might have encountered the Speckled Vallen. Native to the cooler regions of Espen the Speckled Vallen is known for it beautiful bloom and reddish-purple flowers that only bloom in pairs. Allowing it to hide in plain sight (unless an individual wishes to count all the nearby flowers, which could take a while). Its most unique feature that is only noticeable on closer inspection discoloration caused by growth near metallic ore deposits.   Notably the effects of the flower are widely debated. Some claim it has a relaxing effect similar to Kamala Root but that has yet to be proven true. While it does cause double vision in those who have never been exposed to it before the effects only last a day and after that the person develops an immunity to the flowers effect.

Horticultural Findings:

As its used as rather it is mostly utilized as divining agent, effective in predicting the weather and the locations of mineral deposits. Many have suspected the Goblins were the first to discover these traits and used it to amass a great deal of gold and silver though that has never been confirmed.   The petals are useful when dried, preserved, and ground into a powder as a rare dye. It is highly coveted by those who do work for nobles.

Herbalism:

Many believe it is the high mineral content that causes the adverse reactions and double vision. Though few studies have been conducted on the plant, thus far efforts to extrapolate and recreate the effects of the flower have been unsuccessful.
