Pillory of Immortality
At the very northern edge of the Precinct is sits the Pillory of Immortality. While arcana, mysticism, and magic hold little sway in human culture, they are not entirely without their uses. Designed by Cairns Farleigh, a halfling who studied Arcana at the Arcane Museum in Viggrom and Engineering at Great Library in Spritzlewerks; seemed especially suited to solve the ever-increasing issue of crime and punishment in Everhold City.
Erected in UE 785 after the Dappletwist Offensive and subsequent reconstruction of Everhold City the Pillory is the perfect blend of modern architectural form and magical enchantment; Cairns, encased an entire spacial dimension inside the Pillory's walls. This allowed for appropriate space and time to hold the city's more debauched miscreants.
Once inside, time all but stands still. From the small 8"x8" windows of the cells, prisoners inside watch the world they once knew slowly fade into history. This provides an added punishment for those with extended sentences, as they exit to find a world vastly unlike the one they knew when entering. Due to the inherently secretive nature of the Pillory, little more is known. At this moment, it is still unknown how many are inside it, how long they've been there, or what the maximum capacity of the Pillory is. It is said that some individuals have been left in so long that no one remembers their crimes or release date, for those unlucky few classified, Eternals their experience is of an unfathomable nature.
