Enlightened Effigies
History:
Officially, the Enlightened Effiges were considered a manner to canonize and commemorate members of the High Tables of respective cities. Unofficially, they were an excellent means for moving top-secret and stolen information. The Humans, who were never want for espionage or tradecraft tactics developed a hidden language that was passed through Effiges.
A total of 46 statues and paintings were produced with everything Dwarven stone1, Elven Blackwood2, and Gnomish Silver3 were used and as such made the cities the materials were sourced from vulnerable. As tradesmen considered it an honor to be chosen to produce one of the many statues/paintings little resistance was put up, however a small contingent of humans came with it. They posed as diplomats, security, drunks, sell swords, and even madmen to gain entrance into the respective cities and obtain intelligence.
The code used was clever but not sophisticated, based on pointillism, the Humans had the very secrets they stole embedded into the statues/paintings they commissioned. In turn they made the very citizens of any particular culture an unsuspecting mole. Considered one of the greatest Effigies, D'makus Rinwald, (portrayed below in Effigy) successfully escaped Elven territory with trade secret regarding horticulture specifically of the Kudzu and Kamla Root.
