Apex Mimic

Lore:

The Racketton Island was home to a great number of things. A military stronghold for humans, outstanding hunting for wild game, and an off-the-books repository for pirates. But of all those things perhaps what the island is best known for is its wide array of mimics. For this, the island was declared infested as of UE 799 and travel was highly restricted.   It is said that because mimics are carnivorous species they consumed nearly all sources of sustenance on the island, and with a blockade preventing any other people from traveling to the island the mimics were left with one choice to turn on each other.   One by one the mimic population dwindled. After 20 years, and under the cover of fog a research Goblin research team interested to use the mimics on the island as a defense for their city, visited the island. They were astounded to find the legends surrounding the island to be greatly exaggerated. Not a single mimic, only a Human so had slowly been driven mad by the isolation. The rescued the individual and set sail for Hatchetwink.   However, their vessel never made it. It was found floating of the coast of the Mayberry Isles, its crew slaughtered. Only a trail of thick adhesive goo was left behind. Many surmise that the mimic evolved and could now mimic humanoid form...almost. Those who have crossed the path of this Apex Mimic say it can never fully mimic a convincing mouth. Leaving it perpetually grinning. A rictus smile in a mouth filled with too many teeth.
