The Fountain Impetuous

History & Lore

The impetuous fountain is a favorite attraction for tourists. Many claim to have benefited from its powers though after rigorous studies and experiments the brightest minds in Espen still cannot attribute any magical property to the fountain.   Constructed by Eobard Impetuous, a goblin who both lived and died by his passions, the fountain was originally intended to be a modest display in the middle of New Haven's Tri-Oval track. However, by the time the project was completed Eobard had constructed a 50-foot tall fountain that was 30 ft in diameter. Those who watched the project from start to finish were in awe. Amazed that one man could engineer, design, and construct such a marvel by himself. Upon placing the last stone, what was originally a small crowd of onlookers had swelled into 500 people cheering his name in the streets.   Today the fountain is maintained by the Greenhook Family Commission. Each day they attend to the fountain picking up any trash and ensuring that the waters of the fountain are sparkling. The fountain's lore seems to grow every year as visitors have gone from tossing coppers and silvers into the fountain for luck to leaving meals, art, and in some cases rare weapons.
