Summer Camp is going splendidly this year. I've written 8 prompts already, almost certainly the first time I've reached the Copper milestone this early in the month. I have 2 more articles on the go, with 10 old articles edited and 10 prompt responses from other Anvilites read and linked to in my Summer Camp 2026 Article Page.
That said, I've decided to stop editing an old article to keep pace with articles I've done for this year's event once I hit 12. While a couple of them were relatively minor, most article edits turned into almost complete rewrites, which has taken enough time away from Summer Camp articles that I haven't even made unpublished articles for the Silver prompts yet, and it's halfway through the week! (My process is to make unpublished articles for each prompt and use that as a place to write notes while brainstorming until I think I have enough to write up the article. Which means for Silver I just have very brief ideas typed up in Han's Tracker Sheet.)
Why 12 and not a more round number? Because that summer camp article page I have splits articles into 3 columns, and 12 edited articles means 4 full rows. And I didn't want to stop at less than 10, because the 10 I've done so far all referenced stuff I considered in major need of editing - mostly because they tied into articles from the 2024 Summer Camp that are no longer considered canon.
It's been a bit since I've been around on World Anvil, but now it's Summer Camp again, and, as is typical, I'm back in full force for the event.
I was a bit late starting the Homework this year, but was just in time to get nicely warmed up for Summer Camp. I've also added some organizational tags to all of my articles, including an assessment of how much editing they need.
I also decided that this year, since I haven't managed to do the editing I've been "planning" to do since last year's Summer Camp, I'll edit one article for every submission I make to this year's Summer Camp. I'm also going to read one article someone else has submitted for each prompt I complete. Both the edited article and the article I read will be showcased in my Summer Camp 2026 Articles list, so folks checking in on me there can keep me accountable to that. (Technically my pledge was only to do this for the first 2 weeks of the event, so if I get bogged down, I'll switch to focusing on the prompts once the Week 3 prompt collection drops.
Since Summer Camp began, I've come up with ideas for all 10 prompts so far. I've already brainstormed at least 200 words of stream of conscious discussion for 6 of them. And when I realized one of the ideas was a bit of a meh one, I mentioned I was having a bit of trouble on the discord, and Qurilion and nnie came together to help me out with so many good ideas that I ended up writing the full article on the spot: Cottonwood Season. That leaves me with just 3 prompts that only have a title written down for them, but all 3 I've got enough of a concept in my head that I anticipate no more difficulty than the other 6 I've got partial type-ups for.
All in all, I genuinely don't think I could have had a more promising start to Summer Camp this year!
