Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Standing at 6'3", Dargo is an impressive physical specimen. He has striking but weathered looking facial features due to the amount of minor scars he has.

Personal history

Dargo was born in Sharspring to his mother Amoga and father Zirgorn. Unfortunately, Zirgorn was an abusive father, regularly beating Dargo, his mother and his brother Bavust. When, during one of his father's beatings, Zirgorn accidentally killed Bavust, Dargo planned his revenge to kill his father. Dargo's revenge didn't go to plan and although he further injured his father's leg, he was unable to kill him. Left with no option but to run away, Dargo fled.
He eventually made his way to Galdra where, despite his young age, Captain Thoggald (affectionately called Cap) accepted him as a new recruit into the Galdran City Guard and gave him a room to stay whilst he got on his feet. From Cap learned how to fight and more than that - how to enjoy fighting. Lacking a father figure to look up to Dargo looked up to Cap. Dargo picked up Cap's mannerisms, sense of humour and even his accent. However, whilst Cap was always up for a drink and a fight, something darker brewed in Dargo. He rarely spent the night sober and fought anyone who he might have even the slightest reason to. This fighting left him with a number of small physical scars.
A number of years later Dargo met Loella. He had just been beaten up outside of a tavern and she took pity on him. Dargo and Loella fell in love and despite her being human they started a relationship. Because of their mixed races they experienced a fair amount of racism. Loella took it all in her stride, knowing that it didn't matter. Dargo had more difficulty and often took out his anger on those who insulted them. Slowly Loella helped Dargo with his anger and his drinking. It wasn't fixed overnight, but by the time they were married in 1178, Dargo had stopped fighting (except for work) and quit drinking.
Shortly after they were married Loella convinced Dargo to visit his parents, hoping that it would help Dargo to see his mother and that he might mend the bridges with his father. Unknown to Loella, when Dargo agreed to go, he did so in order that he could kill his father and free his mother from abuse. When Dargo and Loella arrive in Sharspring there is a happy reunion with Amoga who immediately accepted Loella despite her race. When Dargo saw how pathetic his father had become, he hesitated. Loella stepped between them preventing Dargo from finishing his father. Dargo went to his brother's pyre in the garden, and apologised to Bavust, believing his brother to be in heaven and when he dies that he will go to hell.
Several years later Loella gave birth to a daughter, Koha, who exhibited innate magical talent. Though Koha was half-Vojaki, her skin was the same colour as Loella's. Dargo took this as a sign that she would take after her mother and not her father, which made him extremely happy. Shortly after Koha's fifth birthday, a pair of tieflings come to the door and attempted to buy Koha from Dargo. While not usually quick to anger, Dargo was eventually pushed too far and beat up the tieflings. Later that night the tieflings returned to kidnap Koha. Before Dargo sould best them again, they summoned a Bearded Devil who killed Loella and nearly killed Dargo too. Appalled by the loss of his wife and daughter, Dargo felt he could no longer stay in Galdra and headed south.

Education

As a child Dargo received an education in Sharspring. However, due to the event with his father causing him to run away from home that is where his formal education ends. Instead much of his training came in the form of combat training as part of the Galdran City Guard under the tutelage of Captain Thoggald (Cap).
Later when Dargo joined the Wayfarers he furthered his own education in the arcane and the occult. He seeks to use the opportunity to learn more about devils and use the knowledge to seek revenge for what befell his family.

Employment

Dargo started work at 13 when he became employed as part of the Galdran City Guard. Later, when he left Galdra he joined the Wayfarers.

Mental Trauma

Dargo suffered nearly daily beatings at the hands of his father. While this served to toughen him up physically it also left him with a constant level of background anger that he had a great deal of difficulty letting go of. Once he married Loella, Dargo revisited his parents with the intent to kill his father. Before he could, he saw how pathetic his father had become. This, along with the constant calming influence of Loella kept his anger at bay.
After Loella's death, Dargo's anger transformed into a burning hatred of devils, a mistrust of tieflings and a deep seated sadism. Most of the time he keeps these feelings under control but they occasionally leak out with moments of extreme violence or even torture.
Further to these feelings of anger, he feels guilt over his inability to protect his loved ones from harm. Unable to deal with this guilt, it makes him angry. Because of Loella encouraging him to let his anger go, he feels guilt when he cannot. These continue in a cycle that he feels unable to stop.

Intellectual Characteristics

Whilst there are a lot of negative traits brewing under the surface, Dargo has also taken on the positive traits of those he loves such as his mother, Loella and Cap. These include being cheerful, encouraging and helpful. These, coupled with his natural charisma, drive and love of violence make him a natural leader. He intends to follow the path of leadership as he believes that it can only be helpful in any revenge he can get over the devils he hates so much.

Anger and revenge are the fuels that keep Dargo going but these are not always available to be satisfied. He feels guilt over his failure to protect his loved ones and strives for situations that he feels would make his mother and Loella proud.
