• To the South, across the Shimmering Sea, and bordering the great Southern Ocean lie the many and varied islands known as the Shattered Isles (due to the pre-historic calamity that separated them from the mainland). Here the mortals that would become Halflings would settle the coves and islands, as their love and affinity of the sea called to them.
  
  
• Many ports, towns,coves and hideouts can be found scattered about the isles, but the largest of these is the city of Sea Haven. Located on the largest of the islands, the city is made primarily from the surprisingly strong sea coral found off shore, and adorned by brilliants opals and pearls. The city boasts an impressive harbor that houses the many ships of the Sea Thane, elected ruler of the city.
  
  
• Though most halflings life peaceful lives as fishers, traders, sailors or other respectable professions, the isles are also known for their strong pirate presence. Due to the disunited nature of this region, many pirate factions have sprouted up to raid the valuable trade of the shimmering sea, the pirates finding refuge in their forts and hideouts scattered across the islands. Occasionally these groups are forged into larger factions by an ambitious warlord, but most often they are small petty pirates who are capable of raiding merchants but melt away against the naval forces of the elves or the Kingdom
