The book of magic

Origin

The Book of Magic was created from the diaries of the first magicians. After discovering their abilities, they researched magic together and recorded their findings in the diaries. When other people discovered their magical abilities and asked the first magicians for help in using magic, they decided to create the first Order of Magicians.
Initially, it was considered a gathering place for outsiders and was shunned, but the mages wanted to prove that they had magic under control, which is why they bundled their knowledge in a book and made it available for other mages to learn.
Over time, the order grew and other orders were formed, which is why the first mages decided that the book should be passed on among the archmages, the leaders of the mage orders. The normal mages and students were allowed to look at the book and make copies. These also gave the book its name. The Book of Magic.

Destruction

During the heyday of mages, each order owned several complete copies and it was considered the most important textbook for mages, then the Vampire War began. Even the most highly trained mages had difficulties in direct confrontation with a vampire, which is why they decided to experiment with magic. There was little success, which is why the experiments became increasingly cruel and led to devastating results.
Although this enabled them to win the war, the consequences were far-reaching and still concern people to this day. As the magicians had learned their knowledge from the Book of Magic, it was branded a work of black magic and all known books and copies were collected and destroyed.

Today, the book is considered a mystery. However, there are rumors that there are still a few copies that have been well hidden. However, hardly any mages believes this, as not a single copy has yet been found despite intensive searching.
