The Soul-bound
When a spirit links with a mortal race it is known as a Soul-bound. Sometimes this happens before the creature is even born and sometimes it occurs throughout the mortal's life. Due to this bonding, the creature gains a longer life expectancy and some magical abilities. These beings are different from when a spirit and a mortal have a child together, which is a rare occasion.
Roleplaying Options:
When a character decides to play a soul-bound character they can replace one of their race's first options with the following option. Conjoined Souls. When you select this feature you gain proficiency in one skill that you did not have proficiency in before. At level 5, once per long rest, you can regain one spell slot by taping into the Essence of the Spirit you are bound to. At the DM's discretion, the Spirit takes control of your character for a short time. Your character can see and remember what occurs during this time.Basic Information
