Sand Terror

Sand Terrors dwell in the Desert of Ruins and are known to be some of the strongest predators there. They siphon water by cutting their prey with their claws and creating wounds that constantly bleed.

4 legs    hard plate-like shell on its back, lined with sharp ridges.   A massive, 15 foot tail with ridges similar to the ridges on the shells.

Magic Resistance. The sand terror has advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects.   Spiny Plates. Any creature that strikes the sand terror with a melee attack within 5 ft. must make a Dexterity saving throw DC 14 or take 1d6 piercing damage.

Actions

Multiattack. The sand terror makes 2 claw attacks and 1 ridged tail attack.   Claw. Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 5 ft., 1 target. Hit: 9 (1d10 + 4) [slashing] damage. If the target is a creature other than an undead or a construct, it must succeed on a DC 14 Constitution saving throw or lose 5 (1d10) hit points at the start of each of its turns due to a lingering wound. Each time the sand terror hits the wounded target with this attack, the damage dealt by the wound increases by 5 (1d10). Any creature can take an action to stanch the wound with a successful DC 14 Wisdom (Medicine) check. The wound also closes if the target receives magical healing.   Ridged Tail. Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 15 ft., 2 targets within 5 feet of one another. Hit: 9 (1d10 + 4) [slashing] damage.

The sand terror is an abomination from the Desert of Ruins. It appears to be a large creature covered in spiny plates that blend into the sand. They are known to be relentless hunters whose claws suck the water from their victims, creating a lasting wound that eventually dehydrates them.
