Lord of the Fog Castle
Hardent is a Spirit of Insanity who lives in a castle of fog just on the Border of The Unknown. Hardent is the name of the calmer aspect of the Spirit while is unpredictable side is known as Dent-Har.
Usually, when he gets "guests" he challenges them to games of various nature. If they win, which is rare, they are given their freedom but he uses his magic to wipe their memories of his home. Sometimes he just requires a simple service from them. It seems simple to him but it often tests the sensibilities of rational people.

Personal history
The Spirit does not remember anything of their mortal life, but it must have been short indeed. When he came into existence he found himself in front of a small portal that led to the Material Plane and he slipped through the planar cracks. He found himself in the southern lands of Erthos and wandered for a few years. Fortunately, he never ran into a person capable of banishing him and so he grew in power.

Hardent is intelligent but when he become Dent-har he loses sight of most rational thoughts.
