BookKeepers of Leahar
Worshippers of Leahar call themselves bookkeepers because that is the basic tenant of their faith. They often control the public libraries in settlements and are a major influence in the Village of Libraries.
The ranks of this order are filled with wizards, clerics, and scholars who lack the aptitude to cast magic. They believe that it is their responsibility to gain copies of all the books in the world and preserve them for future generations. While there are some rules in the organization about what knowledge should be available to the public they are generally lenient on morality.
Structure
The Church of Leahar does not have a central leadership; instead, it is mostly decided in the individual libraries and temples.
The only area with a large organizational structure is the Villae of Libraries due to the high concentration of bookkeepers.
Public Agenda
To gather books, protect knowledge, and teach the world.
Mythology & Lore
The Bookkeepers believe that Leahar wrote the first book when he witnessed an event that he could not commit to memory. This was during the Spirit Age, and the legends say that this book was written on the scales of a dragon. This book was called the Libris Val Tol, The book of the Unknown, and is believed to no longer be in the possession of Leahar.
Anador "Spirit of Chaos" stole the book from Leahar just before the SPirit Age ended, but he knew he would not be able to keep the book of power. So he hid it somewhere in the changing realm that would become the Mortal Realm.
