The Wandering Tribes
Far removed from their crude, savage kin inhabiting the wild corners of the world, or the cruel warbands of Thogrin the Slaver-King, the Wandering Tribes are a loose confederation of orc and goblinoid clans bound together by their shared belief in the Primordial Gods and led by a spiritual council of shamans.
Background
For centuries, the roving tribes lived peacefully on the edges of North Errusian society, maintaining tenuous trade links with the settlements of the Northern Kingdoms while steering clear of their largest cities. Although they possessed all the warlike tendencies of their people, the shamans guided it towards less confrontational pursuits, including ritualistic hunting and frequent "Battle Circles", where tribal champions were crowned.
However, the Third Northern Conquest changed many things. The Empire had no intention of tolerating the presence of the tribes, and quickly launched a series of harsh purges, dispatching their forces to track down the nomadic tribes and decimate their numbers. Especial focus was placed on finding and executing the tribal shamans, under the belief that, bereft of their leadership, the tribes would cease to function as an sort of unified force. Those tribes that survived the initial purges have fled into the wild, hiding in mountains and forest across North Erru.
