New Calderon
Built on the landing site of the first Imperial troops to set foot on Altharad during the Midaevian Invasion, the demands of war forced New Calderon to evolve at tremendous speed. First as a staging post, then a command centre, by the second year of the war there was a thriving community built around servicing the thousands of soldiers and sailors who passed through its mud-splattered streets.
With the end of the war, as payment for their services, the Empire granted leave for tens of thousands of its veterans to settle on their newly acquired land, with each man being granted a portion dependent on their rank and length of service. Most of them choose to settle in or near the already established town.
Many of the banner legionnaires that had served in the war originated from the former kingdom, now Imperial province, of Calderon. In a gesture of respect to the men and women he had once lead to battle and now ruled over, the newly appointed Governor gave them the honour of choosing a name for the colony, which at the time had simply been known as "The Outpost". Unsurprisingly, the chose they name it now bears; "New Calderon."
