Zoaklix

The Zoaklix are a strange and aggresive species native to Terra Nova. They seem to function as an insectoid collective. Very little insight into their culture can be gleaned, as it is unclear how the Zoaklix communicate with one another. These mosquito like humanoids attack with little warning, using their insectoid probiscus to violently pierce and draw blood from their vicitms. If not immedielty fatal, these attacks almost always result in the spread of devastating contagions. No effort at communication or parley with the Zoaklix has ever been succesful, and no reason can be discerned for their aggresion besides the need to feed and proliferate, despite the fact they seem to be able to coordinate with eachother without any noticeable form of communication.   Known Lifecycle:   Egg: Large, red, oblong objects, Zoaklix eggs can be found largely with their hive's Queen, who both carries new eggs, and leaves larger clusters in her immediate vicinty to grow.   "Worker": Eggs that do not seem to receive extra attention from the Queen during growth will spawn into the smaller, termite like creatures, which seem to function as a worker caste for the Queen. These smaller creatures move resources, attend growing eggs, and build shelter for the Zoaklix Hive.   "Warrior": Eggs that the Queen seems to focus on caretaking personally hatch and grow into a "Warrior" form. These creatures are thin, mosquito-like humanoids who use their sharp forearm talons to attack prey. Most dangerous about this caste is their probiscous, which they use to deadly effect to draw blood from their victims. All attacks from this class of Zoaklix seem to carry various forms of painful and deadly contagions.   "Queen": Specfic female specimens amongst the "warrior" class can undergo a growth spurt into a "Queen". Massive, foul creatures covered in egg sacs, these much larger specimens nevertheless have deadly claws to protect the young they have under their care. The talons and bite of a Queen are almost always fatal, due to the virulent contagions they deliver.
