Xolotl Orcs

The Xolotl orcs are a discovered relative of the Mogatai Orcs found in the Old World. Found not worshipping the gods that they knew, the people of the Tzahualli Empire, where the Xolotl hail from, worship the concept of animal guardians, and recent history allowed them to restore their Eagle Spirit to life with the sacrifice of their former Emperor Nuahtl. Currently the Empire is ruled by a boy emperor, and it is beset by mistrust of the current emperor and his ability to lead his people in a post-Janja world. Large structures of obsidian along with temples jut the landscape of the Xolotl orc's homelands, punctuating the vast jungle landscape.   As opposed to their old world counterparts, the Xolotl orcs, in addition to the animal guardians, worship the concepts of death, conflict and war. Might is right, conflict is good and competition is commonplace. This does not mean they unnecessarily war their enemies, but they believe in the strength of their own people and the values that each Xolotl orc can contribute to society.   The guardians worshipped by the Xolotl orcs are Cipactli, the Crocodile Spirit, Kukoatl, the Snake Spirit, Obocelotl, the Jaguar Spirit, Mictlani, the Spider Spirit, and Nahualtl, the Eagle Spirit.

In the early weeks of the Spring of 1024, the Tzahuali Orcs of Terra Nova suffered an unexpected attack from monstrous, waterfaring beasts that spilled from the river. Shark faced humanoids leapt on mass from the shorts of the great river that flows into Tzahuali from the north, and set upon the Tzahuali in a great raid.   The young Emperor of the Tzahuali reacted quickly, rallying his forces to counterattack, and through days of constant and brutal bloodshed, beat the shark-folk back into the river. No leader was located or defeated, and now the same beastly warriors attack in small groups along the river in lightning fast raids on the Tzahuali. The Emperor and other leaders of the Tzahuali people now rally all their soldiers to the river, intent on finding out where these monstrous shark-folk raiders come from.   9/1024 - The river raids of shark-like humanoids continue against the Tzahuali people. For their part, the Tzahuali seem to be well suited to fighting these creatures, suffering only minor losses against their aquatic raids. The only real concern seems to be that the attacks happen at random, and are hard to react to swiftly, but the warlike Tzahuali Empire have sent no messengers to any neighbors requesting aid, and seem to be content to deal with these attacks themselves.
