Vander's Flying Staple

Effect

As you complete the incantation and thrust the bent piece of metal forward a large metal staple manifests in front of you and flies forward. It slams into your target and knocks it prone, potentially pinning it to a wall or other object. When you cast this spell, make a ranged spell attack against a medium-sized creature in range. If you hit, the target must make a STRENGTH save or be pushed back 15 ft. If it hits a solid object as it is pushed backward, the target is pinned and restrained. It must make a STRENGTH check equal to your spell DC to free itself.
You can generate an additional staple or increase the size of a staple for every two levels above 1st. that you cast this spell.

This spell was developed by the great wizard Vander whose long grudge with staples and all baurocracy was well known.
