Haku

Mythology & Lore

Haku is the patron of waste nomads. He represents the free spirit of the wanderer and the wild nature of desert whirlwinds. Haku’s symbol is a stylized gust of wind. He appears as a nomadic human with a noble, haughty manner, dressed in flowing robes and headgear and carrying a bright scimitar.

Worship

Most of Haku's worship is done outdoors. There are few established churches to Haku, though some priests convert large sand ships or caravan wagons into moving temples. All of these temples feature large windows and doors allowing for easy airflow at all times.

Priesthood

His worshipers include rangers, travelers, and beings of the air. Many waste adventurers are followers of Haku, and caravan leaders pay him homage for his power over travel. His priests are recognizable for their long flowing hair; the most devout of them never cut their hair. Some also weave bells or small trinkets into their hair to catch the desert wind.    Haku is the mortal enemy of Azul and they're clashes are the things of legend.

Sects

The Ever-Wanderers:

This sect to Haku has taken a vow never to settle in place. They seek to live by the example of the wild wind by being ever in motion. For some, this means never sleeping in the same place, while in the most extreme cases, these devotees will stay continually moving until they die of exhaustion. Most famously, the Ever-Wanderer Shelioch has been continually wandering for 8 years without ever stopping moving and is seen by many in the church as its most holy member.

The wind blows where it will.
