Knights of Burning Dawn

The Knights of Burning Dawn is a revered group of six elite warriors, handpicked by King Reyumi I during the early years of the Age of Serenity. Formed to embody the strength, resilience, and divine justice of Eldoria, these knights stand as both protectors and symbols of hope for the kingdom. Their fiery name reflects their role as harbingers of a new dawn, driving away the shadows of chaos and despair.   Upon induction, each knight swears an oath to protect Eldoria at all costs, vowing to put the needs of the realm above their own. This oath is sealed in a Rite of Dawn, where they kneel before the eternal flame in the Sanctum of Flame and are anointed with divine blessings.     The Knights of Burning Dawn
  • Sir Valerion the Flamekeeper
  • Dame Kaelina the Starblade
  • Sir Thandor the Ironclad
  • Dame Lysara the Dawnbreaker
  • Sir Drenik the Emberfang
  • Dame Arien the Silent Flame
The order is based in Solarius Keep, a fortified stronghold on the outskirts of Ferinfall. Built atop a hill, the keep is a beacon visible for miles, with its golden spires and flame-lit braziers symbolizing the order’s ever-watchful vigilance. The keep includes:
  • The Hall of Embers: A central chamber where the knights convene to plan missions and hold ceremonies.
  • The Sanctum of Flame: A sacred space for meditation and communion with the divine, featuring an eternal flame that represents their unyielding resolve.
  • The Training Grounds: State-of-the-art facilities where the knights hone their combat skills alongside recruits and allied forces.
  Notable Deeds
  • The Siege of Blackspire Keep: Single-handedly turned the tide against a demonic invasion threatening Eldoria’s borders.
  • The Dragon of Ashenmoore: Slayed a massive fire dragon terrorizing the Ashenmoore region, cementing their legend
The Knights of Burning Dawn remains a symbol of strength and unity, ever-vigilant in their mission to protect Eldoria. With new threats emerging, their legend continues to grow, inspiring future generations to take up the mantle of hope and valor.

Structure

The order is small and highly specialized, emphasizing quality over quantity. Each knight has a unique specialization and contributes a distinct set of skills to the group. They are led collectively, but one knight—typically the most senior or strategically adept—acts as the Dawncaller, the first among equals who coordinates their efforts during missions. The knights also maintain a close relationship with the Royal Academy and the Royal Military, training with its battle mages and scholars to enhance their combat and tactical abilities.

Culture

The Order of the Knights of Burning Dawn serves several critical roles in Eldoria:
  • Guardians of the Realm: They patrol the kingdom’s borders, ensuring the safety of its people from external threats, such as marauding bands or hostile creatures.
  • Vanquishers of Mythical Threats: Tasked with eliminating powerful and otherworldly threats, including dragons, demons, and ancient curses.
  • Symbols of Unity and Hope: Their presence inspires courage and unity among the citizens of Eldoria, serving as living embodiments of the kingdom’s bright future.
  • Royal Champions: Representing the king in matters of diplomacy and honor, they sometimes act as envoys or arbiters in disputes.
  • Divine Servants: Their title as Divine Knights connects them to the gods of Eldoria, and they often work alongside clerics and paladins in missions requiring divine intervention.
