Mythology & Lore
In the beginning, when the cosmos lay veiled in chaos, there emerged two divine beings from the depths of the primordial void: Zephyra, the Queen of the Heavens, and Ignar, the King of Flames. They were manifestations of elemental forces, each embodying aspects of creation and destruction that would come to shape the world.
Roiling in rage and destruction, Zephyra and Ignar fought each other; fire and magma spewing from below and torrential winds and rains toiled above. Each by their selves were forces of mass destruction. Eventually calming down to realize they were fighting over an empty void, with nothing and nobody to rule over.
Zephyra, with her shimmering wings of storm clouds and eyes that mirrored the vastness of the sky, brought forth the firmament above. With a gesture, she conjured the endless expanse of the heavens, where stars twinkled like eternal beacons amidst the celestial tapestry. Her breath gave rise to the winds, gentle zephyrs that whispered secrets across the sky and stirred the elements into motion.
Beside her stood Ignar, his form radiant with the glow of molten magma and the intense heat of the forge. He wielded a mighty hammer forged of starlight and an anvil hewn from the heart of a dying star. With each strike of his hammer, sparks flew like shooting stars, and from the forge poured rivers of liquid fire that flowed into the newly formed lands below.
Together, Zephyra and Ignar worked in harmony, weaving their powers to create a world balanced between the heavens and the earth. Zephyra's storms swept across the skies, nurturing the lands with life-giving rains and cleansing them with thunderous fury. Ignar's fires warmed the earth's core, shaping mountains and valleys, and imbuing the soil with the potential for life to take root and flourish.
As the world took shape, Zephyra and Ignar saw the need for life to inhabit their creation. From the depths of their combined essence, they birthed the first mortals, beings of clay and spirit crafted in their image. These mortals were imbued with the essence of the elements—Zephyra's wisdom and Ignar's strength—and given the gift of free will to shape their own destinies amidst the tapestry of creation.
Yet, as with all things of beauty and power, balance was paramount. Zephyra and Ignar, knew that harmony could not exist without equilibrium. Thus, they placed celestial guardians to watch over their creation—the stars to guide, the moon to illuminate, and the sun to warm—all under the vigilant gaze of the Queen of the Heavens and the King of Flames.
And so, the world of Erkovia was born—a realm where the skies roared with thunder and the earth glowed with the forge's fire. Mortals looked upon this world with awe and reverence, knowing that they lived in the embrace of gods who had crafted their existence with love, purpose, and the eternal dance of creation and destruction.
