Murtilsville

Considered the Gateway to the Wasteland, Murtilsville is the closest civilized location to the desert wastes in the north. Most foottraffic through Murtilsville consists either of Traders stopping by once per cycle or explorers on their way to brave the sands beyond.
Some brave adventurers have come back claiming that if you go far enough north you'll find a blackened, melted landscape with dripping stone and glass frozen in time, knife-like jagged spikes of rock sticking out from natural features, and eerie silence for as far in as you're willing to go.
