Shatterspine Peaks
Legend of Creation
The mountain was said to have been created in the earliest days when the god of destruction Vonir walked the land. Upon fighting an adversary, he smashed his mighty morning star into the ground with such force that the ground ruptured and shot up, creating the mountain range in the direction of the blast. It is unknown what happened to this foe, if it was destroyed, or merely imprisoned under the mountains.Geography
Located at, and marking the northern border of Lyrinthia are the Shatterspine peaks, a mountain range of tall, jagged, rocky mountains where you can find very little life, especially near the snow-covered peaks.
The mountains are all fairly tall ranging from a mere 1200m to 3500m above sea level. meaning that passing over the mountains is a challenge, although not impossible.
Fauna & Flora
The cold climate, rocky terrain and high altitude make it rather hard for most life to comfortably live in this region, but when in the mountains, you would be able to find a few hardy species trying to survive.

Natural Resources
in the foothills of the mountains, farmers herd sheep, there are also some pine forests that make their way up the first few meters of the mountains, but the terrain quickly becomes too rocky for the trees to be able to flourish so the higher altitudes is reserved for hardier plants like heather and rock vines.
Very few in Lyrinthia have tried mining into the mountains in search of precious metals and gems, but prospectors say that there might be some promise on the north western side of the mountains as some silver and gold flakes have been found in streams when panning in that area.
