Eric Kerendas

Eric Kerendas is the second son of Hadrian Kerendas, and cousin to the Emperor, Vulcan Kerendas. Eric and Vulcan grew up together in Ashwick, an island off the coast of White Cliffs, and the ancestral home of the Kerendas family.
As children Eric and Vulcan were of an age and the two were close friends. When Vulcan ascended the throne to Emperor of Demenia White Cliffs, and Ashwick were bestowed upon Eric, and he was conferred with the title Duke of Ashwick, White Cliffs. This caused a rift in the family as Eric's oldest brother, the Earl of Westerly, felt that since he would become the rightful heir of Ashwick and White Cliffs that the titles should have been his. However it cemented Eric's loyalty to Vulcan and instantly made him the most powerful Kerendas, aside from the Emperor.
