Ein Wai'dal

Roughly two-hundred years ago Akhmet Wai'dal served the King of Traia as a leader among the King's Al Mukhtabi. After thirty years of faithful service Akhmet retired, and for his service he was gifted with vast wealth and resources. However, the King decreed that Akhmet's service must remain a secret until they were both he and the King were dead. So even as the King made Akhmet wealthy and powerful Emir, he banished his friend from Dashia.   Akhmet left the city with his family, household staff, a few of his closest allies in the Al Mukhtabi, and a small army. They traveled around the Pashtu for months before chancing upon the Quel'tan oasis, southwest of Bakal, and the Bowra Pass. The first bricks of Ein Wai'dal were laid around the largest of the two Quel'tan oasis lakes only days later. However construction went wrong almost immediately. The very land itself seemed hostile to building. Animals attacked workers. Several died in their sleep from horrific spider bites. Herd animals were spooked so badly they ran into the desert to never been seen again. These calamities continued for two months before their root cause was violently understood.   As the sun set one evening an eagle landed near the camp as everyone was preparing for supper. That eagle transformed into a tall, dark skinned woman who called herself Kismet. Kismet demanded to meet with Akhmet. Before Akhmet could arrive though several guards attacked Kismet, and four of them died before the Emir could intervene. Over the next few days Akhmet and Kismet met multiple times. At first the druid demanded the buildings be removed, the camp broken, and the entire group move on, but Akhmet was persistent, and charismatic. Three days later the group removed the buildings they had built, broke camp, and relocated just a few miles south of the large lake, leaving it to Kismet. She, in turn, left them the use of the smaller one.   Ever since Ein Wai'dal has grown up around the smaller lake, dominated a hill south of it, and built a large stone wall that surrounds the entire town. The wall has been expanded twice in the town's history, but it is still quite small, especially in comparison to places like Ein Bowra. Still, Ein Wai'dal is struggling for resources and its current ruler, Emir Anwar Wai'dal is pressing the limits of the generations old truce his ancestors agreed to with Kismet, who is still the guardian of the Quel'tan oasis.

Government

The Emir, Anwar Wai'dal, has absolute sway over the day to day running of the town, however his son, Zawi, and his Vizier, Ishtan, all provide guidance and advice when necessary.

Defences

Ein Wai'dal is surrounded by a twenty foot tall wall with seven towers in strategic locations around the perimeter. The southeastern corner is especially well protected by a natural hill, and two extra towers that oversee the palace grounds.

Industry & Trade

Ein Wai'dal's primary source of income is as a minor trading hub for the region. Camels are also successfully bred and sold here, and have recently begun to gain popularity for their intelligence and stamina.

Infrastructure

The lake inside the town is everything. The villages small crops are irrigated from it. Wells dug around the town tap into it when dug deep enough. It is so important the main road through the town, running from the north to the south, and gate to gate, is dominated by the lake to give everyone access to it.

Assets

The Wai'dal's are a fabulously wealthy family, but Ein Wai'dal is small so most of the family's assets are in Dashia
