Aerith and Ayred, the Sun and Moon - Major Elf Religion (Air-Ith, A-Red)

The elves of both the Faewood and Grenbour Forest have long held belief that the sun and the moon are physical apparitions of the creators; Aerith, the sun, and Ayred, the moon. It is said that they are lost lovers who are forever seeking each other in the great void. The tragedy is that Aerith will leave the area just as Ayred arrives and vice versa, condemned to an eternity of solitude.
Within elven religion, both Aerith and Ayred are celebrated for different reasons. Aerith is the goddess of life, fertility, beauty, art, and light. Ayred is the god of death, war, justice, honour, and craftsmanship. All elves worship both equally but will pray to one in specific circumstances, i.e a farmer will pray to Aerith for a bountiful harvest year.
The Temple of the Sun and Temple of the Moon both reside in the Faewood, the Sun within glistening silver walls of A'ar Tethryn and the Moon within the Sorrow Glade or Tyl'nora. The wood elves of Emshara have a single temple dedicated to both known as the Emerald Grove.
