Old Arcanum

Once the gathering place for the most powerful spell casters on the material plane.

Structure

The new Arcanum has patterened itself after the old which had the same structure.

• Arch Magus: The highest attainable distinction usually required to be at least 8th circle
• Grand Magus: The bread and butter that operated the organization usually required to be atleast 6th circle
• Magus: The distinction that marked a true wizard recognized by the Arcanum usually 3rd circle was just barely acceptable.
• Apprentice: One under the tutelage of an Arcanum wizard of atleast second circle could be considered an apprentice.
• Novice: One under the tutelage of an Arcanum wizard bellow second circle was refered to as a novice.

The Arcanum has also taken the old Arcanum's tradition of breaking casters into circles, though the casters of the old Arcanum instead draped themselves in their magic forming it into circles. A method lost to time.

• Ninth Circle Mage: 12th level spells
• Eight Circle Mage: 11th level spells
• Seventh Circle Mage: 10th level spells
• Sixth Circle Mage: 9th level spells
• Fifth Circle Mage: 8th level spells
• Fourth Circle Mage: 7th level spells
• Third Circle Mage: 6th level spells
• Second Circle Mage: 4th-5th level spells
• First Circle Mage: 1st-3rd level spells

Disbandment

Some great battle between the mages of the Arcanum lead to the loss of their leadership and the destruction of their flying cities.
