Jal hails from the noble family Lidu, however he had no interest in leading the family after his brother died and instead buried his head in his studies at the House of the Dragon. He would rise through the ranks of the school and eventually become the Grand Archmagus of the school. Those often compare him and his Grand Niece as they both displace kind hearted nature to them.
