History

Before the invasion of the Sea princes, two guilds thrived in Shadowshore. The Bloodly Blades a guild of assassins and the Shadows a thieves guild. Nothing illegal was done without the guilds ok, if you didn’t have an ok they would find out about it rather quickly.   During Orren's rule the guilds fought to overthrow the Mad King, however they were not able to fulfill their plan before the great Sea Princes of the north arrived. They spoke out loudly against inviting the devil they didn’t know into their mists and accepting their help. After the sea Princes took control the two guilds started to fight back, they would sabbatoge the shipments of raw materials they send back to their home land, sent agents to intercept the spys responsible for covering up the location and the existence of Sasserine.   This went on for the next thirty years or so. In the year 992AD the guilds were betrayed by Mitchell Cross who gave up the location of their secret base. It was a massacre, those who were captured were tortured for information of others that might be in hiding. Eventually they were hung from the Teraknian,s arch, where their body would rot and decay for the next hundred fifty years reminding all who sailed beneath the arch who ruled Sasserine.   In 1164AD when the Crimson Brotherhood assassinated nearly all of the Sea Princes and erupted Sasserine into chaos, the denizens of Shadowshore took action. They banded together in groups and that would later set the foundations for the gangs.   During the first few years of rebuilding, the groups now called gangs could not reach a decision on who was to represent them on the Dawn Council. This would led them to the great gang war of 1167AD, in which the Water Rats and their allies became victorious ushering the first representative of Shadowshore and starting the league of Shadows. The League would be comprised of the leaders of the top gangs in the dark shore, they would try to solve issues that faced the shore as well as pick a representative for the dawn council. As gangs rose and fell the league always has stood.
