Tailor/Weaver

Characters who grew up as an apprentice under, assistant to, or who practiced the works of a tailor and weaver, will have the chance to have this particular Extra Skill. For it pertains primarily to the knowledge of clothes like dresses & robes, shirts & pants, cloaks, etc., including the weaving, stitching & sewing, hemming & embroidering processes. Thus while the character never has to be the one making the clothing, they do need to have been exposed to the process for long periods of time. This time would need to be vastly longer if the character is learning on their own without a mentor.

With the knoweldge and experience of a Weaver under their belt, characters with this skill can expertly appraise any article of clothing without any rolls, & properly determine the condition of the clothes. This could result in discovering flaws in garments, and thus subjected to rips and tears occuring easily in the garments with only small stress or if it's faded. They can also identify the type and quality of the material, whether it is for lower, middle or upper class, whether it's in peak condition or is in need of patchwork or repairs, and so forth. In addition, should one with this skill spot any damage to the clothings, so long as it isn't irreversable, they can repair the damage with the appropriate tools, materials and time to do so without any rolls (unless rushing the job).

Furthermore the character with this skill will have an innate knowledge of how garments fall and flow, and how they normally look like in appearance on individuals of various races and sizes. With this knowledge, characters with this skill are capable of spotting concealed weapons and/or objects and items of medium size or greater (such as a short sword, standard spellbook, etc.) hidden within the garments of one's clothes. The base chance is a 2 in 6 chance on the d6, however this is lowered to a 1 in 6 chance if the person being observed is wearing multiple layers of clothing, large and long flowing robes, or a cloak covering them. They also have a +1 to their weaving proficiency, and when attempting to grapple or attack opponent's wearing only clothing and garments (i.e. not gambeson, leather or above) they receive no penalties to hit.
