Scribe
Characters who grew up as an apprentice under, assistant to, or who practiced the works of a librarian, scribe and/or magic-user, will have the chance to have this particular Extra Skill. For it pertains primarily to the knowledge of scrolls, letters and books and how they are made, including the preparation phase, scripting & designing phase, and sealing phase, and binding and finishing phase. Thus while the character never has to be the one making the scrolls or books, they do need to have been exposed to the process for long periods of time. This time would need to be vastly longer if the character is learning on their own without a mentor.
With the knowledge and experience of a Scribe under their belt, characters with this skill can expertly appraise books and scrolls without any rolls, & quickly navigate them among bookshelves and libraries. This could result in determining the book's reading level, accuracy, worth, importance, whether it has valuable information or not, determining if it's a forgery or genuine, if it's a copy or original, and so forth. They are also able to spot fairly well hidden quality books amongst general and common ones. In addition, should one with this skill spot any damage to the book or scroll, so long as it isn't irreversable, they can repair the damage with the appropriate tools, materials and time to do so without any rolls (unless rushing the job).
Furthermore the character with this skill can attempt to spot forged documents and seals with an appropriate proficiency check with a +1 to it's modifier (i.e., heraldry for seals, history for documents, musical instruments/singing for music sheets, etc.), and can they themselves attempt to create a forgery with varying results depending on how close and long their exposure to the documents/scrolls/books/seal they're attempting to forge were, which requires an Ability Check with a +1 to the roll.
