A character with this proficiency unlocked knows the general information of most plants/vegetation and fungi, and is able to more easily and positively identify plant life that is useful for some purpose other than its food value, such as plants that have medicinal use, if they have detrimental properties, or are used for ingredients in alchemy. If some medicinal plant is found and a proficiency check succeeds, then the plant will certainly be the correct sort (no chance of misidentification). Those who have not unlocked the proficiency can still roll to check of course, but not nearly as great an amount. And in an area completely foreign to the unskilled character, they can make no attempt at all. Additionally, those who've unlocked the proficiency will automatically detect plants not healthy, or dangerous to eat, while those unskilled must roll a proficiency check (1-2) to recognize unsafe plants.
