Musical Instrument
Musical Instrument is the proficiency and skill in playing various music, songs, hymms and so forth with a pleasant melody and skill, and is generally used to increase one's personal reaction adjustment from others during and after their songs.
When one puts points into this proficiency, they must specify what type of instrument they are putting points into. These instruments available include String Instruments (Dulcimer, Lute, Lyre, Harp, Pipa, Psaltery, Vielle, Veena, Viol, Zither), Wind Instruments (Bagpipes, Dizi, Flute, Ocarina, Pan Flute, Secorder, Shawm, Sheng), Horns (Animal Horn, Buccina, Cornett), Precussion Instruments (Bells, Kalimba, Mridangam, Nakers, Rattles, Tabor, Taiko), and Keyboard Instruments (Organ, Clavichord). Their chance of success depends on how many points they have in the instrument being used.
When someone uses this proficiency, they can use it for one of two things. The first is to help distract or otherwise calm down a group of people, or otherwise to simply entertain others. Both reasons require a proficiency check, but the second also grants a +5% reaction adjustment bonus for every number under the minimum goal to succeed they roll. Example: Someone with 1 point in musical instrument needs at minimum to roll a 5 to succeed, but rolls a 3 instead. They then gain a +10% adjustment (5 -> 4, 4 -> 3, 2 steps = 5x2=10%).
|Should one have the singing proficiency as well as the musical instrument proficiency, they can use the two of them together to increase their chances of success, adding any bonuses from one to the other. Example: If one has 2 points in musical instruments and 1 point in singing, that would mean they have a 1-6 chance of success for musical instruments, and a 1-5 chance of success for singing. Their dexterity modifier is +2, and their charisma modifier is +1, making their chances for instrument and singing 1-8/1-6 respectively. Thus taking their 1 point and +1 dexterity modifier from singing, you can further modify your musical instrument's chance to a total of 1-10.
