- This proficiency is a "Trained Use" skill, meaning that it cannot be used until it is unlocked.
- The cost to unlock this skill is One Proficiency Point.
- The Attribute Modifier for this skill is Intelligence.
When this proficiency is unlocked, it allows a character to tan and treat leather, and to make clothing and other leather objects. For example: The character can choose to make leather armor, backpacks, saddle bags, saddles, pouches, belts, sheaths, whips, harnesses, barding, and any other such leather objects they desire. The time it takes to make the item depends on it's complexity. Simple items like belts require a single day. Moderate objects like pouches, backpacks and whips require half a week. And complex objects like armors and barding require a full week. Once the duration has finished, the character must make a proficiency check. If successful, the item is finished. If failed, the character needs another day to fix any errors.
Optional: If the player chooses to, they can take a risk and attempt to improve the quality of armors and weapons made with leather. If the proficiency check succeeds, all armors have a -1 AC bonus, and all weapons have a +1 damage, and an unmodified proficiency check of 1 also gives it a +1 "to hit".
