Clan Fianna

The strongest clan in the Ceilic Region, the Fianna are known for their wisdom and martial prowess. Living in the Southwest area of the Ceilic Region, the Fianna have been around for hundreds of years, due to their skill in battle, knowledge of the land and sheer luck.
"There are rumours among the legionnaires that there is a clan of Ceilic savages that best us not only in strength and skill, but in magic as well, both arcane and heretical. The Fianna are a large shadow cast by a small tree, and these incessant lies will cease to spread when we burn their fortresses to the ground and flatten their campsites." ~Commodus Formido, Legate of the Venatorian Army.

Structure

Clan Fianna is ruled by Fionn Mac Cumhaill, a man known for his skill in battle, his knowledge of both druidic and arcane magic and his incredible wisdom and intelligence.   Diamuid Duibhne is an Archdruid who acts as a healer and religious leader to the Fianna. It is his duty to organize the religious ceremonies and sacrifices held on the honour of the Titans.   Goll Mac Morna acts as a military advisor to their chieftain, Fionn Mac Cumhaill. Goll is known for being utterly ruthless. When Fionn's father, Cumhaill, was showing signs of weakness, Goll challenged him for the right to rule the Fianna and succeeded in killing him. Fionn left, and learnt both arcane magic and swordsmanship from forest nymphs. When Fionn returned, Goll saw that Fionn would be a better leader and stepped aside.

Culture

The Fianna value power above all else. Each Chieftain gains their title by killing the one that came before them in a ritualistic dual. The Fianna believe that no one is entitled to anything, other than what they have the strength to take. They live in a harsh world, where the strong survive and the weak perish, so what is the point in delaying the inevitable failings of those without power?
"My people believe that you must be strong to get anywhere in this world... I suppose I took that to heart." ~Cú Chulainn, former member of the Fianna and wanted enemy of the Venatorian Legion.

Military

Warriors of Clan Fianna are beyond powerful, skilled in conventional weaponry, with knowledge of druidic and arcane magic and an impressive build. Armed with spears and longswords, there are few enemies that can withstand a group of Fenian warriors.   Fenian Rangers are known for their great strength and great knowledge of druidic magic. They often wield magical weaponry and leather armour, making them stealthy and deadly. They use stealth and druidic magic to weaken their enemies from a distance before coming in and finishing them off with their weapon of choice.   Fenian Druids cause natural disasters and control the weather to turn the tide of battles in the favour of Clan Fianna. When directly confronted by opponents, they take to form of beasts to dispatch them.

Agriculture & Industry

The Fianna harvest vast fields of maize, and they use this corn to feed their large population. They use this maize to make corn bread, and to make maize whiskey.   The land owned by the Fianna is very rich with coal and salt, both of which they trade with the Authenian Republic via merchantile ships. The salt they harvest is also used to preserve food in large quantities.

Education

Every child in Clan Fianna is taught how to fight and hunt by the Clan's warriors. Medical knowledge and the basics of druidic magic is taught to children from a young age, both by their parents and by the lesser druids of the Clan. Most adults learn a few basic arcane spells, though mostly just a cantrip or two.

Worship

The Fianna worship all first and second generation Titans, seeing them as the true, rightful rulers of this realm, cheated out of their thrones by treachery and dishonourable tactics.   Every month, a sacrifice is held in the name of one of the first generation Titans. Mostly cows, though in times of great need, a goat will suffice.
