Clan Actíre

"I have seen many people use supernatural abilities with ease, but none do it quite so casually as Clan Actíre, the Clan of Lycans. What most people see as a horrific curse, Clan Actíre sees as a blessing and wields like a weapon." ~Church Paratir, Grand Archivist of the Authenian Archives.
The members of Clan Actíre possess a curse used as divine punishment, hampered with through druidic magic so it could be harnessed by the bearer. Clan Actíre are werewolves.

Structure

Clan Actíre is led by Chieftain Brychan Cellach. He is known for his enthusiasm for hunting, his love of drinking and his strange sense of honour. He never attacks an enemy if he does not think it can defend itself, as he thinks that execution is far too boring.   The religious leader of Clan Actíre is Fedelm Allmhar, and she organizes all ceremonies held in the honour of the Titans, and acts as the chief healer of the Clan. She is known for her kindness and mercy, something that is rather rare to find in the Ceilic Region.

Culture

"I once went on a small trip to the Ceilic Region with some of my colleagues, and let me tell you, nothing fills you with more wonder than the inhabitants of Clan Actíre. Nothing at all. Except maybe the Merrows." ~Levoith Silverscribe, Head Researcher of the Authenian Archives.
Clan Actíre lives at harmony with nature, in a way none of the other clans can achieve. The druids of other clans may be able to take the forms of many animals, but every single member of Clan Actíre is able to take the shape of a wolf at will. They hunt in the shape of wolves, often fight in the shape of wolves and occasionally travel as wolves. This gives Clan Actíre a unique view on the natural world, and their place in that world.

History

The ancestors of Clan Actíre were the original worshippers of the Titans, and were cursed by Zeus for their heresy by turning them into wolves. Gaia took pity on these early druids and restored their mortal forms. Through the years, these druids learnt how to temporarily reactivate their dormant curse, allowing them to take the form of a wolf at will. This curse was passed on by blood and now Clan Actíre are the bearers of this ancient curse, and they still hold the secret of how to harness it to their advantage.

Military

The wildshaping ability that all in Clan Actíre possess makes them incredibly fearsome warriors. With the ability to instantly change their form into that of snarling beasts, the Venatorian Legions dread the day when they come face to face with this tribe.   The warriors of Clan Actíre use their ability to enter battle at blinding speed, and to overwhelm their enemies whenever it becomes clear that they are more skilled with weaponry.   The rangers of Clan Actíre use this ability to stalk the woods without drawing attention to themselves. In combat, they often use druidic magic to restrain their foes and then maul them to death in their bestial form.   The druids of Clan Actíre use their wolf form in conjuction with other wildshape forms, such as using the speed and agility of their wolf form to run up to and pounce on their foes, and then change into a bear to crush them and tear them to sheds.

Granted Divine Powers

"Those in Clan Actíre can accomplish in moments what takes druids years to master, the art of wildshaping. Whilst druids can take on more forms than just wolves, those in Clan Actíre can move and live in their wolf forms naturally, and they can stay in that form for as long as they like." ~Church Paratir, Grand Archivist of the Authenian Archives.
Cursed by Zeus, and cured by Gaia, those in Clan Actíre have the ability to take the form of a wolf at will. They become shrouded in light green embers, and when the embers dissipate, they will have changed form.   Whilst in their wolf form, they maintain their intelligence and personality, but they gain the instincts and senses of a wolf. They have less restraint and are eager to hunt down any prey that they can see.   Whilst in wolf form, Actíric clan members can run at incredible speeds and have rather impressive stamina. Their hide is also rather hard to pierce with mortal weaponry that is not made of silver.
