Dispater
Archduke of Dis (a.k.a. The Iron Duke)
The second most powerful archdevil in the Nine Hells, part of the Three Infernals. His home layer, Dis, named after him is filled with hideous jagged canyons filled with iron ore. Within the center of Dis is the Iron City of Dis, the largest of the cities of Hell. He is the right-hand man to Asmodeus, the only devil in Hell who managed to best him. Asmodeus gained Dis's loyalty by fooling him into a contract of service. While at first, Dis was sour at the loss, he began to respect Asmodeus for his shrewdness and pledged his loyalty to him. The status of the contract binding him to The Archduke is unknown presently.
Dispater is known to be obsessed with striking deals for souls. His followers and emissaries are sent throughout the Prime Expanse to spread their schemes and find those vulnerable who would offer their immortal souls for their mortal desires. His Iron City is a haven for those who have sought out incubi, succubi, rakshasa, and night hags to close out deals.
Dispater's Painkillers are the most fearsome of the knights of hell. They lead the charge into any fray and do not stop until their enemy is defeated. They serve as effective guards over his Iron City due to their lack of flexibility when enforcing Dispater's rule of law.

Dispater is the most cautious of the archdevils. His Iron City boasts some of the best defenses known throughout the Prime Expanse, and the defenses he has against plots against himself are even more prolific.
Sexuality
Dis has born many children throughout the millennia he has ruled Dis. A person with infernal blood is most likely to have Dispater's blood running through their veins.
Failures & Embarrassments
Known as the one who makes deals, and typically being the one who comes out on top, Dispater's most known embarrassment was his succumbing to Asmodeus's schemes and inadvertently making a bargain that bound him to the Archduke's service.
Taboos
Going back on a deal with Dispater himself will bode reckoning for that soul. Those who think they can outwit the Iron Duke find out how permanent his deals are.
